Most WWI veterans were more reserved and thoughtful than WWII Korean and Vietnam veterans. WWI took a much heavier mental toll than any other!
WWII veterans were not as traumatized and more able to cope with their experience.
It might seem strange, but many WWII veterans were willing to go again, "if I had known that the Korean War was coming I would have stayed in" was a common sentiment.
