Are mosquitoes parasites?

Post 1

I would have thought mosquitoes were parasites, but there seems to be little suport for that idea on the Internet. However, mosquitoes carry Plasmodia, the parasitic organism responsible for malaria.

Male mosquitoes eat plant juices, so they are not parasites. But female mosquitoes live on blood, which seems parasitic.

Hello! Well, mosquito females have most of the time a parasitic lifestyle, but to qualify as a serious died-in-the-wool parasite I guess a thing has to live more or less permanently in or on its host.
