A Conversation for A Walk in a Russian Forest

It looks beautiful!

When I traveled to St Petersburg, I was happy to see so many silver birches. Likewise when I saw "The last Station." There is something about birches that I find soothing. There are some across the street from me, so maybe I just feel at home whenever I see these trees.

Apple trees also put me in a good mood, owing to growing up in an old, abandoned apple orchard. Apples grow across the street, too. In he book "A gentleman in Moscow," the title character talks about the huge orchards in his home town.

Two kilometers is slightly more than a mile. That's really not very far. And the path in the pictures is well-trod. I don;t think getitng lost there would be likely.

It's not far if you don't have children along. The apparent distance is doubled for every year of age under 13 smiley - tongueincheek

Are the children on foot, or being carried.
