Internal conflict

Of course, real people are inconsistent, or conflicted. They want two things that are incompatible, or they think they want one thing, but find when they get it they wanted something else.

Like the young woman who marries early and finds what she really wanted was the chance to travel and explore the world.smiley - sigh

Or the hero of my current story, who wants to marry Danielle, but also support the resistance, and the two desires come into conflict... smiley - cry
