You have a point. I had not thought of gay marriages.

I don't have any data about the strength of childless versus childful(?) marriages. When one partner wants children and the other doesn't, that could put strain on the marriage if the couple has no children. On the other hand, a marriage that isn't strong to begin with could find itself under stress if the father resents the child's close ties with the mother.
