This sounds an interesting place to visit .

There must be a balance to be struck between leaving nature reserves wild for the sake of wildlife and providing facilities for visitors. Do you think the RSPB has got it about right here?

Yes, it must be a challenge to get the balance right...

I'm a bit biased, being a wheelchair user, that I'm grateful for all efforts to make accessible visitor facilities to help me to get as close as possible to nature. Hopefully for the wildlife the benefits of the lovely birdy facilities help to outweigh the disadvantage of human visitors passing through all day - at Conwy an Oystercatcher looked right at me when I took a photo through the window of a hide as if to say, "I see you, looking at me" but it didn't move away

I guess Conwy does have a good balance, in that the visitor facilities are concentrated in one area, and the 2 mile loop walk around the outside leaves the middle sufficiently undisturbed for the wildlife to be very happy there
