I like Clive Owen enough to be glad he was never Bond

It's to Owens's credit that he didn't get swallowed up by the Bond juggernaut. I think.

But a funny thing happened while I was developing this idea: I intended to say that Meryl Streep got where she is without ever being in a James bond movie, but now, alas, she's being considered for the next one:

Then again, it appears that I may have been hoodwinked.

I would have said Meryl Streep was on the old side for Bond girldom (I know, I'm a cad)... but these days, who knows?

I kind of suspect Clive Owen would not have minded being swallowed up by the Bond juggernaut, given he seems to have been off in the wilderness for a good few years now.

Ahem, maybe Merle Streep is playing M? Or the villain? She'd make a great villain...smiley - laugh

She's been a witch (Into the Woods), among other things.
