Debussy was a connector between the worlds of Liszt and Stravinsky. He met the former early in his life, and the latter late in life. As such, he knew the excitement of recorded sound, moving pictures and electricity, but, sadly, not space travel. But fret not about him, for how could he not have known about Jules Verne's books about the subject? Verne read assiduously, and frequented Mallarme's salon to mix with writers.
