These guys are very pretty. I guess the females have shorter tail feathers. I think they are lovely and I am keen on insectovorous shrikes. Not so much on the ones that eat mice. Thanks for showing us these, Willem.

Hi Elektra! I'm glad you appreciate these. Actually there's little or no visible sexual differences in these. We saw some on the Birding Big Day, out in the rain! So they're quite bold.

Excellent picture of the bird, and I enjoyed the description of them too - fascinating about how the chicks are raised by the family group to increase their chances of survival smiley - ok
