Black Walnut Season
ITIWBS Started conversation Sep 27, 2017
Unlike the more common English walnut, which has no quarrel with, the black walnut disagrees with me violently, indeed my skin starts to prickle if I approach within fifty feet of a black walnut tree in leaf.
Its not that I don't like black walnuts, as a matter of fact I think them not only magnificent trees at their best, but also find the nuts quite tasty.
Alas!
I am, though, terribly allergic.
Aaah!
But come the seasonal leaf fall and a cleansing rain, I can safely approach the tree to gather nuts, which I've found, given their hardness and aerodynamic properties, make excellent slingshot ammunition.

I wish you happy hunting, then!
The squirrels keep carrying them away, one by one.
Every once in a while, one tries to bury a walnut in our yard. I hear Elektra yelling, 'No! Stop that! Take it to the neighbours'!'
