Here's some useful, practical advice for a change. Coming from me, this is almost unheard-of.
The Editor would like to thank:
- The Bat, appearing as himself
- Mrs Hoggett, for her expert advice
- Elektra Gheorgheni, who elegantly evicted the bat with her keen eye, quick reflexes, and long reach with a broom.
Oh, and in answer to the question 'Why is there a picture on this PR entry?', I'd already uploaded it as decoration for the 26 June issue of , so I thought you might as well enjoy an illustrated entry with your morning .

Thank you for this Entry - it will be an excellent addition to the Edited Guide after it has been through Peer Review Fantastic illustrations!
I like how you mention the myth about the hair - last time I went in the Bat Cave at my local zoo, a group of teenage schoolchildren were being silly about that, so much so they ran out without respect and a couple of bats were pulled through the security curtain to the cold vestibule. I was pleased to be able to rescue the bats easily by just holding the curtain open for them to go back into the warmth.
You mention rabies - the UK link in the Entry says that people shouldn't handle bats here too because of that. The law is important here - a few years ago my parents discovered 'bats in the belfry' when their roof was being redone and they had to wait for 3 weeks without tiles while the bats finished nesting! The bats like it just as well in the bat box now, though

Thanks, Sasha! Tavaron helped with the photo and advice from her speleologist folks.
Maybe I should change that 'unknown' to 'rare' in the UK.
And good for you, rescuing the bats.

This is a lovely entry.
According to the Sussex Wildlife Trust we have 18 species of bat in the UK, but I haven't seen one where I live for ages. .

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
