Here's a little Entry about a book that I read recently and found fascinating in a strange sort of way...

This is interesting but I don't think it's going to make me rush out and buy the . (I prefer Lord Emsworth and his pigs.)

I remember, however, Sebastian Faulkes referring to Jeeves as a prime example of a snob, so I wondered how he fared pretending to be a Lord. Probably better than Bertie as a valet!

I was a bit confused by the autobiographical paragraph about Wodehouse.I wondered if it would be more logical to refer to his marriage in 1914 before his travels in Europe and imprisonment in Germany in World War II. What did he do in World War I?

Yes - now you mention it, MVP, that niggled with me, too.

I may read the book. I haven't read anything by Sebastian Faulkes yet, so I may read a couple more. After I've read some proper Wodehouse, of course!

I've tweaked the Wodehouse paragraph to include information about World War I.

Yes, Jeeves fitted in seamlessly as a Lord, whereas Bertie was reliant on the housekeeper and cook to make the tea and point him in the right direction!

I've not read any other Sebastian Faulks books, myself. I wasn't sure about Wodehouse's pigs, but I love the Jeeves and Wooster stories and I recently enjoyed the novel Spring Fever
