I'll say that Brady had been picked 12 times in this game, including 4 times by Galaxy Babe. The first time was in the inaugural game in 2006.

I just noticed that, of 7 point-scoring deaths, 6 are notified by Guardian obituaries. I suppose their online presence is such that they come up near the top of Google searches a lot.

I just prefer Guardian obits, Bob. They usually have good photos, too.
If anyone has a better example for any, then link it here and I'll change the scoreboard entry.

John Noakes had been picked four times in this game: by Vip and Emmily in 2007, and by Galaxy Babe in 2016 and 2017.

You can call me TC Posted May 31, 2017
We are now well into the year and it is surprising - perhaps not unpleasing - that so few names have been crossed off the "liste macabre". Compared to last year when we thought by Easter that there was some Apocalypse coming with all the celebrity deaths notched up, those who survived 2016 seem to be a fairly healthy lot.

I see we missed Jane Freeman's death in March. Well spotted!
She was picked twice in this game, by The Groob in 2016 & 2017.
We have a new leader...

Thanks GB. This was a bit of a fluke, though. That little information box about her that comes up when you search on Google lists her year of birth as 1921, putting her in the nineties. That's why I picked her. That DOB is incorrect. She was actually born in 1935 and was only 81.

Helmut Kohl was picked 6 times in this game, twice each by KB, ReddyFreddy and TC.
First points for TC, and as we approach the halfway stage, it's a wide-open contest.

Because he was in office as I grew up and started being aware of the wider world, Chancellor Kohl is still my mental image of the person in charge of Germany.

There's speculation that IS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi may have died:

He was picked by logicus in this year's game.
I'd prefer to see a published obituary before I award points, but I'm happy to listen to other players' opinions on whether we can declare him dead for the purposes of this game.

ok, I'll update it shortly.
There's no Guardian obit, but here's a profile from a few years ago:

First points for logicus, but his unique under-50, unnatural-death pick secures him 40 points, and he's into the lead.
