Well, I've written an introduction and a conclusion set in 2000. That brings the total word count to 41,570 words.
So, tomorrow, I'll go on and add some Henri pieces. This is what comes of being careful about point of view. One of the things my course insisted on was - be consistent about point of view. so I thought I'd miss out Henri, because he goes on stolidly farming through the middle of the war. He is important, though.

Interesting about point of view. I kept the same narrator in mine, but had to include some bits where a different character told the narrator what they had been doing

Yes, there are advantages in having more than one point of view character but if you have too many, it could get too complicated. You could end up with something like War and Peace!
