Tarzan's cry and seingin' through the trees...

Post 1

Tarzan's cry from the Johnny Weismuller movies was a composite voice put together from separate vingettes by four separate and distinct actors, which is why very few indivuals are capable of imitating it.

Rules for swinging through the trees: I used to do that in my teens, using a meteor hammer to anchor the ropebin clefts between branches.

1. Put tension on the rope and be sure the meteor hammer is securely anchored Before swinging out.

If the meteor hammer doesn't have tension on it when you do, it may come loose and a fall to the ground from your starting position can be very painful.

2. Be sure that there are no branches or tree trunks in the way in your line of swing.

Impacting them mid swing will not only be extremely painful but may cause you to lose your grip and fall.

3. Always be sure that the distance from the anchor point of your meteor hammer to the ground is greater than the distance from your starting point to the anchor point.

If it is not, your swing will carry you into the ground and it will hurt.

Rev Nick - dead man walking (mostly)

4. It is not recommended to try to carry a nearly nekkid woman during your first swing. They are not easy to grasp with one arm only, and there is every chance that other hand/arm is not adequate for the weight of two.

You may both hit the ground - which will hurt - and she might well seriously hurt YOU.

5. Always be sure the test breaking strength of rope/vine, whatever is adequate to support the burden placed on it plus a safety margin allowing for acceleration.

6. Encourage any passengers to hang onto the rope themselves, if they're able.
