Indeed! Did I say so ... I've seen these at least, here in South Africa. Some are in the Pretoria Zoo, and some used to be housed at the Animal Rehabilitation Centre at Potgietersrus (now Mokopane). I'd say there are a couple of dozen of them, probably, here in South Africa.

I remember scimitar-horned oryx from my first trip to a zoo - it was Marwell in Hampshire, UK. I remember the animal was the logo for the zoo, and 45 years on they still have a collection of them. Not only that, but their captive-bred oryx have been regularly reintroduced into the wild:
