Thank you! Yes, I was very amused by the pheasant - my friends wondered why I was taking a photo with the sign in the way, but the pheasant posed perfectly so I couldn't resist! The plumage is very attractive when looked at in detail.

It's a word I use very often, so I didn't realise you didn't know what it was or that it was such a relatively new word! Fascinating.

The word 'Lurgi/lurgy' proves the popularity of the Goons as it is commonly used to describe mild illness nationwide. Spike Milligan told us he was ill!

The 'Ducks Only' sign is great. I also love random signs – if I was there, I'd take a photo of the sign just because I find it amusing what people will put signs up saying.

The castle is one of the finest in the country, although I'm not sure how accessible it is (about 2/3rds of the interior is accessible the website claims.) Arundel Castle often stands in for Windsor Castle in films and television, such as 'The Madness of King George'.
