I had an away day today, and I wasn't looking forward to it because it meant catching up on work later and was likely to be not the best use of my time, but it turned out to be rather good - I was listened to, and enjoyed networking too, which is unusual, but was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of work to do afterwards, but never mind - I will sort it out tomorrow.

I just about managed to do some novelling this evening, so I'm still a day ahead of schedule and have reached 30,000 words. smiley - biggrin

I forgot to mention that I had to put on a new pair of cycling gloves today, too - the ones I was using got wet twice last week and they really started to smell smiley - yuk The option was to wash them, but they are over a year old (I think they were new when I met <BB< last year) and they had frayed badly on the thumbs where they experience the most friction as I push my wheelchair, so they have done enough.

The new ones are slightly different, with a full thumb rather than being totally "fingerless", and the Velcro on the wrist goes the other way, so they will take a bit of getting used to, but they are good for winter and very smart smiley - cool

I've got a young friend that I could suggest cycling gloves to--I'm pretty sure she hasn't thought of them, having just turned 16, and I don't think her grandparents have thought about them, either.

Funnily enough, I've been thinking of getting new cycling gloves too – ones with full fingers to keep my hands warm in winter. I keep meaning to get them but it is so mild I've not felt the need to rush to the shops to get them.
I don't like going in the sports shop this time of year as it involves going into the shopping centre, which is uncomfortably crowded, and the layout of Sports Direct (squeeze as much stuff higgledy-piggledy into as small a space as possible) is a bit oppressive and difficult to find what I'm looking for.

But when you get your new gloves, feel free to pop by so I can say hello to them smiley - winkeye

Yes, I highly recommend cycle gloves for wheelchair pushing - I got my first pair when I was about 16 and doing more by myself rather than going round with my parents all the time, plus I just happened to go into Halfords cycling/motoring shop for a present for my dad and spotted the perfect type smiley - biggrin

I do indeed need to bring my gloves to meet you this winter, <BB< smiley - ok but I will have to think about that at the beginning of December, as November is too much writing on the computer to do other browsing smiley - oribsmiley - oribsmiley - orib
