Hi Sasha. Glad you enjoyed it. I've reworded it slightly, as follows, to make it clearer when things happened:

His family tried to pay off these debts through selling off land and the other two mansions, but eventually were evicted from Killakee House in 1924 and the house and estate were taken by the bank.

The 8th Baron Massy, also called Hugh Hamon (1894-1958), lived the rest of his life with his wife in the three-roomed gate lodge of the estate, known as Beehive Lodge. The bank couldn't find a buyer for the house, so they sold the estate to the Department of Forestry in the 1930s and had the house demolished in about 1940.

This is a wee bit ambiguous: "The mountains to the south of Dublin are known as both the Dublin Mountains and the Wicklow Mountains, depending on which county they are in."

Something like "The mountains to the south of Dublin are known as both the Dublin Mountains and the Wicklow Mountains, straddling the two counties." ?

Curious how we hear of the 4th 6th and 8th barons Massy. We wonder how the 5th and 7th were left out of the story. Maybe there's little to tell, but we wonder nonetheless.

Thanks, R. That wording about the mountains was better, so I've used it.

It is odd about the odd barons. Could it be that each generation tries to be different from the previous one, so if one generation is outstanding, the next strives for mediocrity and vice versa.

What's the mass of wood in Massy's Wood, if Massy would weigh the mass of wood?
(I don't think it'll replace 'How much wood would a woodchuck chuck'...)

If Massy's Wood could amass mass, and Massy's Wood would amass mass, how much mass would Massy's Wood amass, if Massy's Wood could amass mass?
