I like this Entry - particularly the Doctor Who/Torchwood sections smiley - ok

"In America it was scheduled against the final episode of , and subsequently had poor ratings. "

Something missing from here.

I'll have a look at this again... smiley - biggrin

What's a genre twist?

I'd be interested in seeing the US version of Queer as Folk, as the UK version was excellent (takes me back to my "teenage rebellion phase" when I was 27 and watched QaF on catchup TV while my parents were out smiley - laugh). I shall have to see if it is on DVD or something...

The Ultraviolet (US) paragraphs could be made clearer at the start to say that it was a pilot only

"coming across like a 15-year-old desperately trying to grow a fluff-moustache in an embarrassing attempt to look old enough to drink." - smiley - rofl Spot on smiley - laugh

smiley - ok

Okay then, changes have been made. I'm afraid that I completely missed QaF as I didn't own a television 1998-2001. So much television, so little time…

The opening paragraphs are clear now smiley - ok

"Ultraviolet was a series that had a short run both sides of the Atlantic." - this makes it sound like there was a broadcast in America...

I see QaF is on DVD, and it's actually an 18 certificate, so it just goes to show...

Seems suspiciously like they added the extra 3 years to the certificate just because the relationships weren't heterosexual - I've seen stronger heterosexual scenes in a 15... Then again, it might have been censored a bit for the TV, I don't know...

Tweaked a bit more.

smiley - shrugThere are quite graphic homosexual sex scenes in 'Torchwood: Miracle Day' and that is a 15, but as I've not seen QaF I can't comment on why it is rated 18. Perhaps the characters in QaF play 'Game of Thrones Edition Risk'?smiley - silly
Mind you, after 'Titanic' was released people were joking that the BBFC's rule was 'One breast = 12, two breasts = 15'. Thinking about it, the original 'Total Recall' featured a woman with 3 breasts, and that was rated 18…

I like your theories smiley - laugh especially about the breasts smiley - rofl

I guess it might have been drug references as well that pushed QaF into the 18 bracket, but that doesn't bother me like violence and various other things do, so I can say I have seen an 18 after all smiley - ok (even though some lower age-rated broadcasts are far more disturbing) smiley - flustered
