Lee had a remarkable presence, and knew how to use it. He had a lightness of touch which only made his performances more authentic.
A great loss.

So many legendary roles, including one of the definitive Draculas. It is said that at one point, he held the record for the most films made by one person in history. A sad day for the cinematic arts. Rest in Peace, Mr Lee, in stark contrast to your characters.

"He had a lightness of touch which only made his performances more authentic."
Except in Rasputin the Mad Monk, which isn't well regarded by many Hammer fans, but I love to bits for the sheer gusto with which he chews the scenery.

I've seen Christopher Lee in so many movies it's hard to keep count. Except for the end of the Hobbit franchise, the last of his movies that I saw was "Dark Shadows" [2012]

No, that's not right. Odd that one should die so soon after the other...

He was probably needed for a fourth at heavenly bridge. Christopher Lee, Leonard Nimoy, and Rod Taylor were the others.

Weird. I had just taken A87852423 to sub-edit yesterday. I was reading about bowler hats and umbrellas and added two links on "umbrellas" mentally noting that we have no edited article on bowler hats. Then I heard this on the news

Not yet. But I expect it will be headline news, seeing as he was in both Doctor Who AND Star Trek.

In the absence of Mu Beta I have decided to award 15 points to The Groob for Olaf Pooley.
As for Icy's under-50, I reckon that's 40 points due to the under 50 rule of doubling: If your prediction is unique, then you receive 15 points.
= 15 (30)
and
5.You will be awarded 5 bonus points by a death caused 'not by natural causes', in other words a suicide, murder or accident.
= 5 (10)

Thanks Galaxy Babe. Not sure I'd have a leg to stand on if you decided to enforce the rules by the book, though. So no worries if I lose Olaf! I thought Olaf might make the headlines of one of the 'biggies' or the obits. I'll keep an eye out. I mean, come on! In Doctor Who AND Star Trek AND reached 101 years?! That must be newsworthy, surely?

Mol - on the new tablet Posted Jul 19, 2015
The BBC news website has a piece early each month about deaths during the previous month of lesser-known peeps one might otherwise have missed. I'd have thought Olaf was a good candidate for that.
Although the BBC news website has recently gone totally pants, so maybe not.
