This entry is in response to the Create Challenge relating to Expedition 42.

I was inspired, if you can call it that, by watching Butch Wilmore tossing freeze-dried turkey and cornbread dressing around the ISS. When he said 'grits', I couldn't take it any more...

smiley - applauseAnother enjoyable entry!

Alas I must admit ignorance of 'Tang' and 'Cool Whip' - unless these have different names in the UK. Perhaps someone knows. Is 'Tang' a canned fizzy drink like 'Tango'? Does 'Cool Whip' have a UK equivalent, or is it a bit like Angel Delight, Bird's Instant Custard or Mr Whippy icecream?

Thanks, GB. smiley - smiley

BB, Tang is often sold as a powder. It's an orange-flavoured breakfast drink that's kind of like artificial orange juice. It contains Vitamin C and calcium.

Cool Whip is substitute wihpped cream topping. It has advantages, such as its being non-dairy - good for kosher households and the lactose intolerant. It's also good for fast dessert recipes. smiley - winkeye

I'm suspecting these are not UK products. I should probably add explanations, then - thanks for the tip! smiley - biggrin

This is a delightful article. <smiley)

Except that it makes me feel ignorant smiley - doh What's Ten Forward?

Grits sound horrid. They'd be better off with porridge, followed by haggis with neeps and tatties. smiley - run

Ten Forward is the bar/restaurant on board the Enterprise-D, located at the very front of deck ten.

Right you are, BB! smiley - biggrin And gagH, of course, are live worms - which are marginally worse than grits. Let's put it this way: I will EAT grits. And, like Butch, I prefer mine with butter rather than sugar. On the other hand, I will NOT eat hominy in its original form. It looks like little teeth, molars actually, and has a rubbery texture. But at least it's not gagH or tube grubs...

MVP, thanks for letting me know that even on h2g2, not everybody knows the way to Ten Forward. I added a link and a footnote. smiley - winkeye Ten Forward was presided over by Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan, the wisecracking extraterretrial with the funny hat:

I can't imagine my life if I'd never watched Star Treksmiley - headhurts

I am currently initiating Ian into the genresmiley - ok and it's a good job they're all repeat episodes 'cos he asks so many questions...

I'm currently enjoying "I'm A Celebrity..." holed up in the Aussie jungle presided over by two impish Geordies, dishing out the Earth equivalent of gagH and tube grubs to the poor contestants smiley - spork in order for them to win proper meals for the camp. Fab TV. smiley - laugh

This reminds me:

Whatever aspect of space exploration inspires you - be it 'Star Trek' or the RL adventures of the likes of Chris Hadfield and Butch Wilmore - get it down on virtual paper for us during December.
