Can't say that room looked particulary inviting, I hope you weren't charged a lot for it. I know London is expensive but...really. I supposed you were exhausted enough to sleep in it. I recall not dealing well with the time shift and not being able to do all that much sightseeing in London due to jet-lag.

The room served very well for the purposes I had intended, a place to store my luggage and to sleep at night. The free breakfasts were not bad I did find the UK bacon is a bit more like what we would call 'fat back'
I found the results of 'Jet-Lag' to be minimal due to the timing of my flights. Although my arrival was in the middle of the night my time, the sun was shinning in England and the circadian rhythms seemed to have over-ridden my internal clock.
I suppose forcing myself to sleep at a fairly early in the early hour of the evening helped too. My return on Saturday let me stay up until almost 3:00AM US time and get to sleep the next night at my usual time, but that is getting ahead of the story

US bacon is decidedly rectangular in shape. It is about a third, or fourth, the thickness I found in the the UK and usually contains far more fat. It is usually sold in thin cardboard boxes with fairly long strips, all with a uniform width. there is a cellophane window on the front that lets you view the fat content, and a pair of windows (also with cellophane covers) on the back so you can look at the bottom slice or two. I think they employ someone to put the leanest slice at the bottom of each package. A good batch can be fried to crispy and it falls aprt as you chew it.
We also have 'Canadian Bacon' which is perfectly round and is almost like ham slices, but perhaps a bit sweeter, it also has a rind (or skin) like deli cold cuts.
Glad you enjoyed
