Thanks to Dmitri U1590784 & Galaxy Babe U128652 for reminding me of him.

Norman Smith.
The Beatles and Pink Floyd sound engineer also had a couple of hits himself.
I can't remember how but I met him at a do in the early 80's, ( I was going out with a lass who worked for a record company at the time) a really interesting bloke to chat to.
Sadly no longer with us smiley - rose

The full version has a snippet of Clockwork Creep (from Sheet Music) in the intro, which I remember thinking at the time was a nice touch.

Clockwork Creep is another example of 10cc's clever use of words and musical inventiveness that all came together so well on Sheet Music.

I think we were speaking a while back about events when you remember where you were. It might have been this conversation. Any road up. I can remember very clearly the first time I heard I'm Not In Love.

There was a group of five or six of us who used to hang out together, usually in one of three or four pubs. Four of us had already seen 10cc play at Reading I can never remember for sure if they were the headline band on the Friday, of Alex Harvey) and were bowled over by Sheet Music, which we all listened to until the grooves wore out.

We all met up at one of these pubs for a drink on a weekday night, and after I'd got myself a pint one of the friends I'd been at Reading said he was going to put something on the jukebox and asked if I could guess who it was. It was I'm Not In Love, and I couldn't.

I wasn't sure about it first, especially 'Big boys don't cry, big boys don't cry', but it grew on me real fast.

I first saw both Space Invaders and Galaxion in that pub too smiley - biggrin

Were those the pub table versions,

Video game inside a glass topped table was always going to be a good idea not... Beer flying everywhere as someone tried to avoid the incoming spaceships.

No, they were cabinets. The first table version of a video game that I remember seeing was Missile Command. Which I was particularly bad at. But I was very good at Galaxion. Got the full 800 every time when those three bees came down in formation.

I just watched some Galaxion on YouTube. Gave myself a Proustian rush smiley - bigeyes

I got nine, but I honestly don't know how, and I'd have got a perfect score if I hadn't thought number two was too obvious to be something called Parade.

1. Which album is this tropical artwork attached to?
Correct answer: Boys Don't Cry – The Cure (1980)
smiley - mod I knew it wasn't Outlandos D'Amour or Rio, so a 50-50 guess between the other two. ZING!

2. Which new wave album is this?
Correct answer: Parade – Spandau Ballet (1986)
You answered: Kings of the Wild Frontier – Adam and the Ants (1980)
smiley - mod A guess (wrong, as it turned out) based on elimination of the right answer. See above.

3. Which record is this?
Correct answer: Speaking in Tongues – Talking Heads (1983)
It just looks like a Talking Heads cover, doesn't it.

4. Which album belongs to this sleeve?
Correct answer: The Scream – Siouxsie and the Banshees (1978)
smiley - mod Well it definitely ain't Closer. Ocean Rain and Underwater Moonlight seem too oabvious, but that already caught me out on Q2.

5. This colourful artwork belong to which record?
Correct answer: Movement – New Order (1981)
smiley - mod Complete guess, but with a feeling of intuition.

6. Which record is this?
Correct answer: Age of Plastic – The Buggles (1980)
smiley - mod It's Trevor bloody Horn! How hard could it be?

7. Which album does this artistic sleeve belong to?
Correct answer: Synchronicity – The Police (1983)
smiley - mod There's Sting, Stuart and... the other one! How hard could it be?

8. Which Japan LP is this?
Correct answer: Quiet Life – Japan (1979)
smiley - mod Not Photos of Ghosts, a guess between the other three.

9. Which band does this sleeve belong to?
Correct answer: Entertainment! – Gang of Four (1979)
smiley - mod The wording around the images is very Gang of Four.

10. Which record from The Cars is this?
Correct answer: Candy-O – The Cars (1979)
smiley - mod Yep, I did actually know that one.
