I'm impressed, too Freewayriding. smiley - applause I'd be glad to hear more about your book.

But I'm not sure the role of the historian is uncontroversial. The Guardian yesterday had an article about criticism by Michael Gove, Education Secretary, who thinks history should be patriotic,of the TV comedy series 'Blackadder Goes Forth,'which depicts the shambles of the First World War. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/06/blackadder-michael-gove-historians-first-world-war
Incidentally, for a comedy, Blackadder Goes Forth has a stunning, poignant final scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vH3-Gt7mgyM
