Gosh, Rod would have to invest in those expensive French tools to do any project involving this lumber. I bet the statues made of it are really impressive though. Thanks again for sharing this. It is neat that they live so long.

Not likely! that stuff is 'Expensive' in bold underlined italic. What's more, the shipping here looks to be about three times the purchase price.
I've had a go at some miniature turning but not small enough to make any sense with this!
after a bit of research:
It's only one of quite a few woods that don't float - in the chart I found, this one is at number 6 out of 10.
Interestingly, in a similar list, it's at number 10 for hardness.
Note though that these charts are a sort of average - 10% variation between samples is not unusual so conceivably, numbers in the list could swap places.
