The 8th part of the tour.
I tried not to repeat anything I told in the other Entry about Vienna.

The one question I had about this article is whether you wanted your previously edited article ' A13911725 Things to See and Do in Vienna, Austria' to become part of your Virtual Tour? I have seen other projects where entries that have already been edited become part of a newer project.
Up to you, of course.

Yes, I thought about that too. Although maybe it gets too long. Not sure.

At the moment this project is a virtual tour of all Austria, except the actual city of Vienna - which is arguably the most famous part.
I think that if I was reading a project about Austria I would expect there to be an article on Vienna included as part of the project. If you did decide to include your previous article on Vienna, this would just involve adding a link at the top of each page and when the articles are edited a friendly curator could add the Project links to the Vienna one, and leave it otherwise exactly as it is now.
Up to you.

I wanted to alter the current Entry about Vienna anyhow... hmmm...

This is going to be such an important Entry about Austria when it is complete. Compared to information provided by sites such as Trip Advisor this far outshines any other I've looked at.
I tend to agree with BB about linking to your original Vienna Entry. A13911725 If there are things that you'd like to have updated in *that* Entry, we can easily do that too.
BB is correct, Uni projects can link to much earlier Entries, if they are natural partners to the project.

Yes, I agree, I will 'fuse' this Entry with the other one about Vienna.
And thanks I really hope it will be useful for people. In some cases I could even add more information but I don't know too much about some of the states, or at least I don't know all the places someone who lives there would know. It's been a while since I was in the western parts of the country.

If you are worried about the length, you could keep it in the same format that you have now: your original article that is the city of Vienna and this one, covering the wider state. As long as it is clear from the titles what is being discussed (ie one called The City of Vienna and another called The State of Vienna - or a title of your choice) I don't see it as being a problem.

Well, they are all separate Entries now... but I guess if I take the long one about Vienna I could also extend some of the others a bit.

... and I would like to please, please, please get rid of that very old Entry about Vienna. It keeps being linked to my Entries by the Sub-Eds and I don't like that at all.

You noticed how, at no point whatsoever in any of my comments, did I suggest adding a link to A190144 Vienna, Austria. As someone neutral, I can understand your annoyance - it simply is not a good entry by today's standard.
It is a legacy from when entries were short and intended to be funny, and it amazes me that it took 3 researchers to write, and most of it is about an old Ultravox song...

Just catching up here Tav. In my opinion the time has come to demote the old Vienna Entry, A190144
I'll take the discussion to Trello and also involve the Curators, as we will need somebody willing to check for all links to this old Entry and change them to your far superior one.
As for making your Entries longer - unless there are vital facts missed out, I don't think there's any benefit from writing more just for the sake of it. Most people won't want to read a long essay anyway.
There is an art in brevity, so don't try to make things longer without good cause.
Re the new information you want to put into A13911725 Things to See and Do in Vienna, Austria, can I suggest you write your new text here, then once we are happy with it, either I or a Curator can add it into the existing Entry.
Then, when we've done that we can remove this part of the Project from peer review. You can then link to the updated version of Vienna from all the other Entries.

Thank you Lanza, I think that's a good idea.
Not sure how long I will take to merge the two Entries.
And you are right, I'll leave the others as they are, although I may write a few separate Entries about some specific sights.

I have updated this Entry now. It looks fine in Pliny but in brunel (and I guess also Alabaster) there are problems with the pictures.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
