This is a Travel Game idea to break the monotony of long journeys in the car or on the train

Hello bluemooner Welcome to Peer Review
Thanks for submitting this. You've written it really clearly and it is easy to follow. The only word I'd suggest adding would be 'stationary' in the example about the tractor in the farmyard.
Out of interest you may like to take a look at A397398 Things to Keep Children Amused on Long Journeys. This Entry gets *lots* of readers. I'm wondering whether your game would make a perfect update to that entry?
Lets see what others have to say about this Entry first.

I think this is good enough to stand on its own. We could put a link in Children's Games to it.

Short, sweet – I like it
I see no reason why this shouldn't be a stand-alone article, with links to and from the Things to Keep Children Amused on Long Journeys entry. If it became part of the bigger article it might get a bit drowned out.
Great to see you back on h2g2, I look forward to reading more by you!

Hi,
Thanks for your comments - I've taken your advice and added the word 'stationary' to help clarify the scoring system.
I originally thought the article could be linked to a category such as 'Travel Games' or 'Things to amuse Children' if there are such categories. How would I do that?
Thanks again

Tell you what I'd like to see: something which brings this entry to life. Some personal experience of playing the game. A bit of wisdom.
What are the problems that can arise?. How can you keep the game going if you're driving through urban areas? What arguments happen when you play it? What tactics can you employ to win? That sort of thing.
I play a similar game when there are elections in the UK: Election cricket. You score 1 point for a Tory poster, 2 for Lib Dem, 4 for Labour, 6 for Green/left-wing extreme parties. Lose a wicket for UKIP or other right-wing extremists. You get the idea.

This would have been a fun game to play when I was a kid. We drove through a lot of farm country.
Of course, we would have added points for spotting mules..
Do you get any points for being stuck BEHIND the tractor for about a mile? This used to happen to us a lot.
I agree with Icy - maybe pep up the opening with a comment about rural driving, the need to entertain kids, that sort of thing. Shouldn't take more than a couple of sentences.

As an alternative - can we do what I suggested earlier? That is to add this very short Entry to the existing one entitled:
Things to Keep Children Amused on Long Journeys A397398
It would be easy enough to do and to add bluemooner to the list of authors. A397398 is a collaborative Entry and is often read by our visitors to the site.
