Here's an interesting bit of information:
comet = thing in space made of mainly ice
asteroid = any rocky thing floating or gallivanting around in space
meteor = any rocky thing that has breached earth's atmosphere and is still in flight
meteorite = any meteor that has landed.
Do I have this right? I think so but...
