Wow the history was fascinatinng and well told. I am afraid that I am still dim when it comes to UK geography, but I remembered about where Hadrian's wall was from previous entries.Thanks for your series. These cathedrals are terrific landmarks of history and that they are still working buildings is cool.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Carlisle is North West right on the border with Scotland. It is also a huge railway junction and has a fabulous coffee shop.
Writing for the post is a bit like writing poetry - quite nice and perhaps a bit indulgent. However, one never knows what one's readers thinks of one's writings or indeed if one even has any readers.
It is a pleasure to know that one does and they like it!
