Gosh, what an awful thing, I'm glad I've never had anything like that happen to me. I'd never be able to sleep again and would go bonkers.smiley - yikes Thanks for sharing this. What body of water was this so I can avoid it? Creature of the Black Lagoon indeed.

That particular lagoon system doesn't exist anymore, lost to a flood control project several years later.

As to what the predator in the water was, there had been a tsunami wave in the area not too long before and it might have been a shark.

Sharks are not too unusual in lagoon systems of the character.

Another possibility is that someone might have illegally released a pet store alligator, common in the pet trade at the time.

Impossible to say in the murky and all but opaque green water of the lagoon.

Thank goodness it is gone. Again thanks for sharing, the true stuff is much scarier than the paranormal junk they show on cabel chanels --they are all too psuedo.
