I've seen another medals table somewhere where they've taken the number of medals won by a country against the country's GDP, which makes interesting reading... Completely inverses a lot of the list, with many of the african nations appearing right at the top.

Yes indeed, gives a whole different perspective. But then, you can rearrange things by counting all medals together or by scoring 3-2-1 for Gold-Silver-Bronze-tinfoil- or whatever.
