impressed, Willem. This illustration is another beauty - well described in words, too.

What's the medium? (I have guessed but won't publish...)

Oh ... and I glimpsed another of these doves just a few days after writing that entry! My sister and I were taking rubbish from the house to the landfill, and I saw one flying on the way there, showed it to my sis as well, pointing out the long tail and the rufous-brown wing feathers.

Ah, Willem, I won't admit to guessing the medium rightly (or wrongly) ...
but he's gorgeous. You have a talent to envy and what's more you use it to good purpose.

Sorry, I'm a little slow to this but these amazing drawings and beautiful entries are more than enough on their own to make me glad that I am involved with h2g2 again. I think that Douglas Adams would have been simply thrilled to such beauty and creative passion on h2g2.

Thank you very much Researcher5! I am happy to be making a contribution here, I just wish I could do more. I'm going to try to do more in fact ... I'm thinking of a similar column about plants.
