Thanks for all the information on these pretty cats. I am glad that they usually don't consider humans as prey.

It is interesting that many of the giant ancient animals had such a function in the ecosystem.

Hi Elektra! Thanks, I'm happy you enjoyed the pictures and article. And thanks for that article as well! I wonder if we (=humanity) shouldn't introduce some forest elephants back into South America to help out with that. But will they behave ecologically the same as the gomphotheres did?

I also wondered when I first saw your link if it wouldn't perhaps be about the giant ground sloths that might have helped disperse seeds of one of the large kinds of agaves (Joshua Trees and relatives) in North America. I'll see if I can get a link about that.
