It's not about that Electra..I happen to think death rituals are important...but yes the ones here so often are formulaic and empty...Ted's mates and brother made their own real ritual.

But really that's by the by because as I mailed Dmitri, it is one little ditty of several I did, based on newspaper stories. I don't know what came over me.

But it gives context to the thing..I assumed he'd add that..otherwise it's all a bit weird. I should have been clearer because I know how busy he is doing the Post..and well done for that.

Also I don't see the point of adding 'blobs' to verse. To be frank I don't like it...it seems designed to just 'prettify' it. Verse isn't pretty...even amusing ditties...it's the purest form of language for me.

Sorry, Effers - I can add something about the newspaper. (I didn't like to editorialise on someone's poem.)

The blob thing is traditional, I inherited that, but I can remove it, as well. There is no law that says we have to. (I'd like to see it in the by-laws, if there is.)

In future I'll be much clearer. I do understand that to a degree it is a 'magazine' and has a house style. If my demands become too much by all means say so. I care about art a lot and that's the reason. I don't want you to feel I'm being unduly critical because you do a hell of a job which I appreciate....and I didn't realise things could be changed once 'printed'...but hey that's the beauty of online...I forgot.

I remember years ago, back at university. Elektra and I were co-editors of a science journal for students. We had a catastrophe one day - 3000 copies of our journal came back from the printer with a really odd symbol. It wasn't the printer's fault - he usually did supermarket flyers. He didn't have a 'lambda', so he substituted a sideways 'y'. We put in an erratum slip.
