Donating your entire body and health to science has, I believe, been key in quite a few scientific breakthroughs over generations.
Here's another epic example of that - I do not really want to know what the recovery time was after having worked through that.
Or may you haven't recovered....

It was blooming good fun I can tell you. Thankfully I have a very high tolerance to getting hangovers, but I did feel a touch ropey the following morning
