Aptly retold tale. I hear that there is a problem of loss of frankinscense trees, because of bugs and bad farming. Although I never cared for inscense in church it does have a pretty smell. I'd hate to think we'd lose it.

Thanks for the kind words. I've just been listening to a biblical scholar who was saying that if JC was born in the reign of Herod then it must have been 4BC or before as that is when Herod died. Also the bible says that there were 3 gifts but not how many people brought them.
That could be a twist for next year.

Well time is relative. Remember A85654957. Why does the date matter? It is what JC did that matters and his words.

Yes, I have read and was fascinated by this. I don't know how accurate carbon dating is, but I guess there may be a way of checking some time-spans with organic clues.
25 December is just arbitrary, too. It picks up on the solstice etc.
Anyway it has just passed midnight here in Sydney so it is definitely Merry Christmas here! I wish you Peace, Love, Joy and Hope.
Key: Complain about this post
