h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It's been raining s and s for more than 24 hours solid. Rivers are streaming down the streets, the puddles are growing ever bigger - an d deeper. No reports of flooding yet, but I expect to read about it in the news tomorrow.

But the weather reports for the next few days aren't exactly cheerful - some time between Wednesday (tomorrow) night and Thursday night, the forecast says the temperature will drop below freezing and we'll get snow - lots of it.

I'm just hoping that the rain stops before that happens, and that the puddles dry up. Otherwise we'll be having a circus, with cars and pedestrians slipping and sliding on ice hidden underneath snow.

Yes, sometimes it's hard to remain an optimist when faced with reality.

Should I start a conversation in Ask to establish whether anyone's noticed a neighbour building a big boat? In an area where pairs of animals are also mysteriously disappearing?
