Is that the hole on the upper left side? It looks as if it was an injury rather than a deliberate trephine site or maybe it was an unsuccesful trehpine site. I suggest that as theres no evidence of healing such as new bone. If its an injury likely to be something narrow such as a pointed implement, dagger perhaps - or even a projectile like a bullet. Any other signs of injury? Wheres Time Team when you need them?

Essentially. It's in the geography, archaeology, and palaeoecology (what a word!) department, but is more or less conservation of historic monuments and natural and cultural landscapes. Good fun, anyway.
