Has something been changed, or are you working on this at the moment?

After posting in a thread, I am now getting "1 new post" or even more than one in my conversations list. When I excitedly go to look at the thread, thinking someone has reacted to my latest post, the new post *is* my own latest offering. This used to happen with journals, but not with ornry threads.

And this morning I have noticed that, after posting, the thread comes back on the screen and in the list of postings on the left, (goo with frames) I can see that I have posted, but, simultaneously, in the thread itself ont he right hand side of the screen, my postings are not visible.

we're running a refresh of the cache at the moment that might have caused it, but do let us know if it continues.

Right, well, just now I posted to three threads. Immediately afterwards, I refreshed my conversations list and each thread registered "1 new post". Two of the conversations still had my contribution as the latest offering, whilst in the third, someone else had actually posted in the meantime.

It's only petty, and doesn't bother me, now I know it's there, but you did ask....

Today I had an even odder thing going on: As described in my journal here: F56786?thread=8290655

It hasn't happened quite so radically before (chucking me out every time I log in). I can't imagine you were doing stuff at 6 am GMT this morning; I posted between 7 and 8 am CET.

At 6am GMT we start the morning cache clear, this can take a few hours. Can't remember what time the evening one happens at, but we do need them twice a day.

That explains it, then.

Oh wow !!

I just posted and when the conversation came back it had my post in it! That's the first time for weeks!

Up until now it has been that, after posting, I could see my name in the left-hand list of posts, but clicking on it didn't do anything because my post was missing in the right-hand window. Also at the same time in "my conversations" it says "1 new post" - or even "last posted just now" and at the same time "42 new posts" - and the newest post is my own!
