h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I don't know if this is a new bug or how long it has existed, because I only just tried it out.

Whilst in my journal, I thought - "Hey! There's a "New conversation" button". Perhaps I don't have to scroll right down to the bottom of all my journals and search for the "Click here to add a Journal Entry" link.

I looked in other people's journals and found that I couldn't see this button there, so, logically, only I can see this button in my own journal.

I clicked on the button, started a new thread, wrote a title and a post underneath and posted.



Nothing happened. No new conversation appeared in my message centre, no new journal appeared, and no conversation anywhere in my conversations list. All that beautiful prose gone up in smoke.

So - what is that button for? Can it be removed - or, better still, replaced with a button "Click here to add a new journal entry" - either leading to the space of the person who clicks it, so that they can write a journal, inspired by the one they have just read, or it could be only visible to the person whose Journal it actually is.

No hurry with this one, I would say. I've only just tried it out myself after ten plus years on hootoo, and ten days of NaJoPoMo. I just hope people aren't trying this and posting more valuable prose than mine was (I knew I was trying something out and it wasn't Meaning of Life stuff) and losing it to the ether. Something as frustrating as that would put a newbie right off the site.

Of course - this might only apply to Goo.

I've just ventured into Brunel. The "Add a Journal" link is at the top of the journals there, which is easier to find, so Brunel users will not be tempted to do what I just did.
