I don't know if this is a known bug, it is certainly not a new one, as it used to happen pre-move.

When making a conversation posting in Brunel, no matter where you put the cursor in your text if you press a button to add a smiley it goes at the end of the posting. This can be very annoying if you review what you want to post and want to put a extra smiley in the middle somewhere.

For example I am now going to place the cursor before the last full stop, and press . It will appear here-->

In alabaster, it appears twice; once where you wanted it to be and the second time where you pointed to.

And yes, it's a known problem. But stay on the bug hunt, we appreciate it.

It's done that in Brunel for as long as I can remember. Perhaps even since the BBC introduced the skin.

Yes, it's a sign of the beeb copying my code. Many years ago I popped into the the Towers to say high, and showed off some clickable smilies that I was working on, a couple of months later the Guide had them. I was seriously flattered

I don't think they've nicked my code, this one works better.

We're looking to redo the whole posting window when we do the rebuild (might even sneak something in when we resurrect Barlesque) and will look to fix the smilies then.
