How are the books we're reading for the short-list different from your normal reading?
I'm not a fan of literary fiction, but I'd read a couple of Booker prize winners for bookgroups I've been in and I really enjoyed them. Since then I've attempted to read the winner every year.

I haven't read any of them yet, but I read mainly literary fiction, so I don't think the books on the short list will differ a lot from ym normal reading.

I normally read J K Rowling and Enid Blyton (Malory Towers at the moment thanks Z). When I’m not reading aloud and chose my own books I normally read literary fiction but recently I have embarked on another reading challenge. I’ve asked my friends to recommend books and then read them. This has been a mixed success…I’ve read a fantastic statistical analysis of the relationship between corruption and development and several not so fantastic romances. A return to literary fiction is something of a relief. I’ve never deliberately read Booker prize books before. I’m wondering if I should place a bet on the winner now that I’m 3 books in.
