Well done!

At last an adult view of a fact of life. Well written and thoughtful. It's a pity you live a world away, you would make a great dinner companion.
Well done!

Why thank you!
There is nothing like growing up to help you grow up, if you see what I mean. I would have been amused by the style but horrified by what I would have thought of as the cynicism of the content if I had read the entry only five years ago.
And here I am writing half of it.
Credit is also due to Rainbow, who wrote and inspired the other half of the entry. Drop by her space and say nice things to her too!
a cynic, but fun with it, called Ben

I'm not the person I was five minutes ago, but you both seem like intelligent, thoughtful people. MPTU
(You know you're both going to get hit on mercilessly after that submission, don't you? Let me be the first....my what beautiful eyes you have!)
Well done!

Well, it wasn't actually advertising. But - hey - it never does any harm.
And what big teeth you have, Mr Wolf.

We could always start a thread of pick up lines, but I have a feeling it has already been done. And by the way is that something in your eye, here let me get it for you....
Well done!
a girl called Ben Posted Nov 12, 2002
The one which started off one of the relationships on which that thread was based was an unconscious freudian slip: 'let me lay you and leave you'.
Well, how could a gal resist?
*flutters eyelashes hopefully*

Ahhh...more's the pity that you are thousands of miles away. In any case I have always thought that the sexiest part of a woman is her brain and you are one of the sexiest women I have ever...er... read.
Well done!
a girl called Ben Posted Nov 12, 2002
Now that IS a compliment. Stray your way through my poetry, do.

I will, thank you. Another thought occurs to me, that fantasy is part of the magical start of a relationship before reality rears it's (sometimes) awful head. With your permission I will now make you a part of my imagination- unseen, unheard but well thought of. We will almost certainly never meet but quite frankly I like you. OK?
Well done!
a girl called Ben Posted Nov 12, 2002
A question too far, that one. But it is always nice to be liked.
"fantasy is part of the magical start of a relationship before reality rears it's (sometimes) awful head"
That is the key to being a successful mistress. Keep reality at bay, and foster the fantasy and the magic, consciously and deliberately foster them. So long as you are both aware, however subliminally, that what you have is not real it can be enormous fun in every respect of that much abused word.

"A question too far"- my apologies although you may be reading more into it than I intended. Which is to say I'm terrible at expressing myself to anyone other than myself. I'll remain a cyberaquaintance.

Hey - no worries! I am very much complimented by everthing you have said. Don't stop just when I am enjoying it!

Very well then, I'll use my best line. (ahem) Your red scarf matches your eyes, you closed your cover before striking. Father had the Shipfitter's Blues, loving you has made me banannas. (From the song of the same name)
Well...it worked once...
Well done!

Well yes, and it must be sung in full voice. With appropriate facial expressions. On your knees. In a crowded pub.
Well done!

I'm completely enjoying this ping-pong match but I actually have to get to work soon. Before I go (I hope to come back soon), what's your favourite line (to or from you!)?
Well done!
a girl called Ben Posted Nov 12, 2002
Well, as I said, the 'lay you and leave you' slip did it for me in about 45 seconds. He didn't even realise he had said it!
The one I am searching for which was posted here by Mother of God, and which I have never had the nerve to use is 'do you mind if I nibble your fly?' She said it worked every single time.

That would work very well with me although "Hello" works too... Not that I'm easy, just pliant!
Off to work (I've been doing this in my office and someone finally noticed I was free!)
