hay i m very very new to this type of activity. i am a student of Computers but i m not getting the tpye of the H2G2. Is it chatting room or message board or a community or blog? plz help me?

Greetings sagittarian_reader, I'm another of the ACEs...to answer your question it's essentially a L-A-R-G-E message board or series thereof, that can be used for primarily chat room type communication-but is distinctly communal by nature. And as you'll see with the opportunity to keep a journal on one's page, there are-from what I understand-aspects of blogging. Am I more-or-less correct lil? Or anyone who'd care to comment?

Yes Jaz'd you are quite correct! 
Also in a fast flowing thread, that blog can change topics numerous times to the original posting. My advice is to read the last page or two before jumping in with a reply (amazing how many times I did that as a newbie, forgetting I was not on the last page) everyone then becomes confused!
