SGG, part of the problem is that you deleted the previous conversation threads you started from your conversation list on your personal space. People had replied to you - quite a few of them. Click on these links to get back to the threads F7182?thread=248489&latest=1 and F103378?thread=248487.
Another problem is that you haven't put anything in your personal space yet. Until you do, people can't come and talk to you there by leaving you new messages. All you have to do is click on this link <./>UserEdit?Masthead=1</.>, type anything at all (even just hello) and then press the Update Entry button.

Welcome Luna!
Yeah, it's a top site. Loads of friendly people and far too many great entries.
I'm an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) which means it's my job to welcome people to h2g2 and to be generally helpful. If you need any assistance, or fancy a chat, I'm your man! Reply to this message or click my name to visit my space.

Nothing--all h2g2ers are researchers If you mean as far as a person's nikname is concerned, a person is Researcher #whatever until the go to Preferences and change their name.

How do you go up a ranking and also where can you write things so you get a rating if you know what i mean.

There are no real rankings and ratings on this site. We're all sorta working towards a common goal of the edited guide. (the only rank of any kind are the "Italics" - the people who run the site and get paid for it, called so because their names appear in a bold italic font).
However, here's a page to help you learn how to contribute entries: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/Contribute
Enjoy.
