I like the idea of the caveman spouting poetry, but I feel it needs a cartoon to do it justice.
And I'm getting really confused, because I've been talking about bloomers on another thread, and whether they were underwear or outerwear, or, indeed, loaves. So adding a history of poetry and caveman lyrics is too much.

h2g2 will do that to you.
In addition to keeping up with all of this, I'm reading up on LBJ's mob connections. Double .

Will it have lyrics and mnenomics?
OK, I'm off to gather things for the winter.
Things. Things???
Will the cartoon have any winter-things in it? .

A cartoon of a caveman with poetry would be great!
But I don't know when I'm going to get my piece on the peculiarities of poetry written.
I think it had better be a few personal thoughts or it'll take me forever and turn into an anthology.

Hi there, I have thought of a poet-caveman cartoon! So please let me know whoever wants it ... it now just needs an article!

If nobody else can think of something to write, I will ... 'The Roots of Poetry' or 'The Rhymes of the Ancients' or something like that ... but let's hear from Cactuscafe and Minorvogonpoet!

This sounds like a fine work in the making! < I shall look forward to it, and I will recite the Rhymes of the Ancients, when I know what they are. .
I would contribute, if I knew how, like if I had a different brain entirely, , ah I wish heheh,
but thanks for the inclusive thoughts and I shall enjoy the read.

I'm trying to write a rant, entitled 'Why Poetry'. I don't have time to do much research or polishing, though, as I'm off to France on Wednesday.
I might dump it on the AWW, where anyone who likes is welcome to improve on it.

I've posted my rant: A86887787.
I'm I hijacked your thread on characters and started waffling on about poetry.

I liked your 'rant' as well! It isn't really a rant as *I* see it ...

Right, so if no-one is going to write an article about the prehistory of poetry, would it be OK if I did one?

Go for it, Willem!
The Prehistory of Poetry. Yay! I will look forward to reading.
