How has the EG changed over time? How did it start out? What made the changes and why?

Ditto PR.

Oooh, yes, brilliant topic.

I believe (given I wasn't there at the time) that initially you wrote an Entry and submitted it to the great Mark Moxon. He then said yes or no, and it was added to the Guide, pretty much 'as is'. After it became apparent that this workload was obviously stupid, they had to come up with a better solution.

I don't know if this was the birth of PR though, or whether there was something in between.

We need some proper smiley - senior people here for that!

How interesting. So the EG volunteer schemes must have evolved out of that.

Actually the Post archives would be the perfect place to start. It's original purpose was to keep the Community informed about the changes that were going on (again, I believe).

Well thats certainly convenient, however I'm not one for things like this, I tend to just lean back and make poking remarks and the occasional PR/EG (ah, wait, thats why i'm here) entry

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences

Before PR there was the Fun Run, worked on, established or whatever by such old stalwarts as Martin/Lucinda, if I remember rightly.
