Witty Moniker

I’ve suspected for several years now that this website is being kept in a static state as an artifact of its time.

I don’t expect any effort will be made to implement modern web design.

It's a pity Pastey isn't around anymore. He could have implemented those changes in 5 minutes.

Talk like a smiley - pirate day is Sept. 19th every year. It is probably a coincidence that it is also our wedding anniversary - even if we were married on a reproduction of HMAV Bounty - possibly the site of one of the most famous acts of piracy in history.

P.S. sometimes called HMS, but that is just Hollywoodsmiley - winkeye

Greetings Stats Fans! Here's the report for September.

There were 67,000 unique users compared to 59,000 last month and 305,000 pageviews compared to 290,000 last month.

Organic search is still the most common way of finding h2g2, but traffic from other sources increased this month, for example from Reddit linking to Hamburgers in History, an online education website linking to the Lascaux Grotto, and cracked.com linking to Harry Potter and an Entry on square bullets.

Isaac Newton continued to be popular, as were Name Jokes and American High School Dances. The Shang Dynasty saw a steady stream of views, as did the Neolithic Revolution. Danny Boy was notably more popular, as were Enzymes in Industry and Medicine and the PEE Essay Writing Technique. The Chemistry of the Elements, Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, British Patriotic Songs, the Fata Morgana, Galileo Gallilei and A Brief History of Toast also trended.
