Welcome to H2G2 this is a great start, the content fits all the writing guidlines, infromative, factual, real life, and there's no current article on pencils.
Just a couple of small points.
There's a tiny bit of first person at the end, "I hope this has given you an insite.." which according to writing guidelines shouldn't be in there. Also have you considered putting it into guide ML. Then you could mkae all your headers proper headers rather than just capitals.
If you're interested then have a read of the guide ML clinic at A187229
and you might want to link to a guide entry on pencils at A526178.
Keep at it and do make these changes then I'm sure this will soon be edited guide material!
Well Done

I think that means that you've put an extra opening tag when you don't need it. If you're using the tag then you don't need an opening tag at all it's a stand alone tag. So just insert when you want the line to break!

Well done this is a great improvement! King Cthulhu of Balwyniti's sugestion of putting and around the paragraphs is a good one.
Also you can actually link to another entry it's self. The way I'd do it is one of the times you've writen pencil to make it into hyperlink. You can do this by typing pencils.
Another thing that would really improve the appearance of it is running it through a spell checker. This takes around 30 Seconds.
I do it by
Copying the contents of the edit entry box into a word document.
Correcting all the spelling mistakes in the text it's self (it will also think that some of the tags are spelling mistakes, leave that).
Copying it from the word document to a notepad one.
Then from notepad to the edit entry box again.
Done.

What about wooden pencil cases? Similar to the metal ones you explained, but with a top which either slides out lengthways, or swivels. Those were the Rolls Royce of pencil cases when I was at school. They were about the same size as the metal cases you describe, and they were compartmented. The creme de la creme wooden pencil cases had a top tray which lifted out to reveal another compartment underneath. Usually made of beech as I recall.

I was at school for most of the 1960s and a little bit of the 70s. So that would be last century.

And if Z tells you to run it by a spell checker, you can tell it really needs it (, Z - couldn't resist
)!
A spell checker wouldn't find this one, though:
wears > wares
as both are proper spellings.
Not looked thoroughly, so there may be other things to say - and as has been said earlier - it looks a good start!

Yep, good idea. Pencil Cases are definately weird . Though they're not as weird as Bookcases (A810055).
Theres a few seplling mistakes but other than that it looks like you've got a good article coming along

The bag type pencil cases are *very* strange, because no matter how much stuff you put in them, they're never quite full, and when you go to look for something you know you put in there, you can't find it. Pencil cases are portals to alternative dimensions and universes.
